Greg is getting his second day of chemo today. It is a very strong course of chemo and he was up sick most of the night. He is napping now, but seems to not be able to sleep at night. He’s anxious and restless when he’s awake. He had a splitting headache all day yesterday as well. Keep up the prayers. This is going to get worse before it gets better. Love you All.
Day Two of Chemo 5 comments
Round 3 begins tomorrow. 1 comment
We check back into the hospital tomorrow to begin the first part of Greg’s Tandem Transplant treatment. He will get three days of extremely potent chemotherapy, followed by two days of “rest”. Then on August 8th, they will infuse/transplant half of his previously collected stem cells. He’ll remain in the hospital for an additional two to three weeks then we go home for six to eight weeks to rest up before the next and final round. We’re a little nervous as we haven’t experienced any of this before. Greg is most certainly NOT looking forward to going in again. He was just getting to feeling almost normal.
As always, your prayers are very much appreciated. All our love to you,
Greg and Colleen
Finally…beginning transplant chemo. 3 comments
Greg will check into the hospital on August 2nd for picc-line and hydration. He’ll begin chemo for three days on Wed, August 3rd. The stem cell transplant is scheduled for August 8th. As soon as I have more information. I will post it.
Once again, thank you all for your prayers and support! You are all a mighty blessing to us.

Yard Sale a HUGE Success! 1 comment
Thanks to the generous donations of family and friends, our yard sale was a HUGE success, with the final tally exceeding all of our expectations! A steady stream of shoppers kept us busy from around 7:30 in the morning until 1:00 in the afternoon, buying clothing, books, tools, flowers and furniture, and at the end of the day, we counted over $2,500 in receipts! We have all been so very blessed by the tremendous outpouring of love and generosity, and wish to thank all of you who donated, shopped, and worked so hard helping us with the sorting, setting up, selling, and cleaning up – we absolutely could not have done it without each and every one of you. Extra special thanks to Annie and Joe for graciously giving up their yard space for all this time, as the donations poured in and piled up! Now, after a short rest, we will be planning our next event – please stay tuned for further details.

Your prayers are working! Greg is feeling so much better. He went to work for a half day today and then drove to the airport to pick up his Mom (Norma) and two grandkids (Cambria and Chaz). He kind of overdid it (I know….not Greg, right?) today hunting for snakes with Chaz and teaching him how to shoot a gun. We don’t have the exact start date of the next chemo session. He is scheduled for a CT scan on July 8th.
Friday update 6/24 1 comment
Really nothing new to report. Greg feels a skosh better than he did on Tuesday, but still very, very weak. He is starting to go a little stir crazy. His mind wants to do stuff, but his body won’t let him. Still fighting nausea and the “super sense of smell” that seems to come with it. Finding food that sounds appealing is a challenge.
Ilona made 20 of the Testicular Cancer Awareness bracelets. You can receive one with your donation of $20.00 or more. Just make a notation with your donation that it is for a bracelet. They will be available at the yard sale and Melinda’s Salon as well. She is a very talented jewelry maker and they turned out very nicely, as usual.
If there are any of you who are business owners and cater to the public, that wouldn’t mind putting a donation jar at your place of business, please contact Kerry or Debbie or myself.
Thank you family and friends for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. You make each day a bit brighter.
